Why Mobipocket Reader
Full screen reading

Sub-pixel rendering
On PocketPC : Sub-pixel
rendering with Microsoft ClearType® is available.
On PalmOS : you can set the sub-pixel rendering Mobitype mode
on color Palm devices. |

Image Viewer
Select any image and select the "Image Mode" item in the
popup menu. You switch to the built-in Mobipocket Image viewer mode. You can
then zoom in, zoom out (PocketPC only) and scroll the image using the mouse.

Read in Chinese, Japanese, Russian, etc...
On PocketPC/Windows CE/SymbianOS
: you can install True-Type fonts from your PC, and select these fonts in
the Reader Settings. This allo0ws you to read in non Western-European
languages with UTF-8 encoding (Chinese, Japanese, Russian, etc..)
Note that UTF-8 is currently not supported on PalmOS devices |

Enhanced full text search
A powerful reading function that's not available in paper
books, the Find function helps you search for words or phrases quickly and
easily. You can now search for the next, previous, first or last occurence
of any word, and even search in the annotations.
N.B. : this feature is currently not available on Series 60 devices. |

Indexes & Dictionaries
A Mobipocket Reader dictionary is a specialized eBook that
allows the user to look up word definitions through the built-in Lookup
functionality. You're only a click away from instant word look-up. |

Highlight
You can mark up a section by highlighting it with a stroke
of your stylus, as you would with a highlighter in a paper book. You can
also edit and delete highlights, and view a list of all the highlighted
sections in your eBook. |

Annotate
Your personal Annotations - highlights, bookmarks, notes,
and drawings - are stored for you in one unique location and can be easily
organized. You can view all your Annotations from one place (no flipping
through pages to find margin notes or highlights), edit or delete an
Annotation. |

Custom Linking
You can add your own custom links between two documents :
select some text in one ebook, and choose the "Add Custom Link" function in
the popup menu, then go to the target ebook section and set the link. |

Freehand drawing
Add a blank page in any part of the book you're reading
and add free-hand drawing. You can select from a dozen of pen and background
colors. |

eNews, RSS feeds, weblogs
Another unique feature of the Mobipocket Reader is the
capability of extracting and reading Web Site news from your Desktop PC with
the Mobipocket Web Companion.
Right-click on an enews channel in the Web Companion
interface to open the enews directly in the Mobipocket Reader for PC. You
can also secure an enews channel by setting a password on the enews .prc
file that is created.

Rotate Screen

With the Removable Card Manager, it is even easier to move
your eBooks between the main memory and your MMC/SD/CF/Memory stick card.
PocketPC 2002 users can also take advantage of the built-in Flash-RAM folder
available on most PocketPC 2002 to safely store eBook files.

Quick Publish function
Easily convert any HTML, TXT or image (GIF, JPEG, PNG,
BMP) file and send it from your PC to your PDA/smartphone.
- Click on the Publish button in the Web Companion to
open the wizard
- Browse or Drag and drop a file
- Set the title of the exported file
- Choose the encoding in the list. For example BIG5 or GB
for Chinese texts is supported.
- Set the compression and security options in the next
step, then click on Next and you're done!
- The file is then sent to your PDA/smartphone with the
Send book utility
